We got to come home after just 24 hours. It was so nice to be at home so fast and get to "sleep" in my own bed. (I say "sleep" because I did have a 1 day old to get up and feed every few hours :)

The day before I had Molly. My fam came into down for it and took the kiddos swimming at the Lehi pool. They had a blast and Dan and I ran some last minute errands. Good times :)

Dan's new fave hobby is model airplane and helicopter flying. The kids think it's the best thing ever. Dan was trying to teach Brock a little about how to fly but then decided instead to tease him by flying the copter in his face. :)

Dan's mom got Kara this cute little beanie when we were in Estonia in Europe. I think it's such a funny but so cute hat! Kara loves it.

Brock is hilarious. His little mind comes up with the most bizarre things. We happened to both be wearing red shirts on this day and he said since we were on Team Red together we had to take a picture of our bare bellies touching... He's a funny little person for sure!

Yup- missed a bunch of days again....

But here's what made me happy today. Playing outside with the kids- we were watching Dan fly his model airplanes. Me and my 3 (soon to be 4) kiddos!

Jan 18th, I ♥ faces families post

So today I'm trying something new- I'm entering one of my old photos in a photo contest of an online photo group called "I ♥ Faces".

This was from my first newborn session- and it was 1 week old twins. This photo speaks to me about the moment you go from being a woman or a sister or a friend or a wife, to being a mom. It's when your heart about explodes with all the new love you feel for your new "family". I just love the emotion of this picture... a mom's love for the newest members of her family, her babies!

Jan 15th

This is a totally random picture. Most moms find the weirdest stuff in their kids pockets or in the dryer after washing their kids clothes. (I've found like 5-6 littlest pet shop animals at the feet of Kara's pajamas that came straight off her in the morning and into the dryer. (How she slept with them in there I will never know))

Anyways- this is from Dan's clothes the other day found in the dryer after drying his clothes. A giant bullet, 2 pheasant feathers, some weird car part thing, and a broken piece of glass. (I still get kinda freaked out about by finding bullets in the dryer at the end of a cycle- happens all the time around here- but Dan assures me a bullet couldn't go off in the dryer- still freaks me out...) Strange....

I was playing with depth of field and focal points and what not and liked this picture after I got it on the computer. It totally makes me think of what those 2 cat toys are thinking as Kara joyfully bonks the Zebra on it's head repeatedly. haha.

I love kids in jammies. It's just such a cute snuggly thing!!! And I love pics where all 3 of my kids are smiling and looking at the same time because that doesn't happen much. :)

Yeah- I'm a slacker

Hi- my name is Nicole and I'm a slacker. Whew- ok I admitted it. Life has been nuts with Dan out of town this last weekend, wrangling 3 kids solo, trying not to waddle, and me trying to tackle crazy tasks like painting my house (which I remember why I hate it by the way.)

Anyways- I have one or two pictures from the like 4 days I've missed already but I haven't uploaded them yet. I'll catch up when I can....

I'm crafty. heehee Well, no, I'm not really but I just used my handy dandy Knifty Knitter and made a baby hat and cocoon (or sleeping bag as we call it at our house.)

No it is not that great of a feat. Anyone could do it I know. But I did! and I am not normally crafty. So I'm gonna toot my own horn and post as my picture of the day my grand accomplishment. (on a scary pink clothed baby Kara got for Christmas...)

This is my princess- always wanting to wear her pretty dress up clothes- and she obviously loves bananas! I like this picture because her eyes really pop! Gotta thank her daddy for those baby blues!

Now again- I find myself not getting too artsy in my house during the day- I guess I'm just lazy... But this morning Brock had the FUNNIEST mustache after drinking a smoothie. Such a mexi 'stash to me. Hahahaha So I had to take a picture and of course Brock, being the total ham he is, obliged with a HILARIOUS face!! I know no one will find this photo half as funny as I do but I laughed for a good 5 min when I pulled it up on the computer- it's just sooooo Brock!!!

Two for today!!!

The first is my actual picture--- again not a great picture photography wise- again I forgot to take one during daylight and this was KBs spaghetti face after dinner... She totally does the head tilt when I take pictures now... What a poser. Haha

And then I can't believe I'm actually making this public- but my New Years resolution every year is some sort of exercise lose weight goal. And obviously the losing weight part will be easy in a few months- I'll lose at least 7 pounds when this person comes out... haha. But I just wanted to document myself before the baby came- this is me at almost 34 weeks. And to be 100% honest the camera adds almost 5 pounds. Literally. I weighed before and then again after I picked up the camera to take the shot and my 40D with my big lens added almost 5 pounds. Haha- truth in an old saying! Haha.. Oh and that big white blob in the bottom of the shot- my baby belly... I have to bend forward a little to see my toes past my belly... haha

It was 5pm and dark outside and so I bounced my flash off the ceiling but still needed a high ISO so lots of noise. And I know I missed the focus slightly. So in PS I added some noise and made it a black and white...

And that's why I'm doing this challenge. To try to take better pictures and work on my editing...

Kara calls her hair clips Pretties (aka pitties in toddler language). And lately she has become a little obsessed with them! She'll bring me huge handfulls and insist I put all of them in her hair. Here is the end result the other day...

Hmmm- this was one of the only pictures on my camera from Jan 2nd. (Brock must have snagged my camera AGAIN!) again a picture I didn't take but again tells alot about me- my kids take over my life (and sometimes my camera....)

Late Start!

I decided tonight (Jan 6th)- that I would attempt a 365 day picture blog. Now knowing myself this blog will be severely neglected and I'll be lucky to make it posting once a week but still my goal is to force myself to practice more with my camera... I'll post some pictures from my point and shoot that were taken on the 1st through 5th and try to do a picture a day with my nice camera from here on out... But like I said- we both know I won't even come close :) But here's for trying!!!

Here's a picture I had Brock take (he's 4) on Jan 1st for my family blog... It just says alot about where I am in life at this moment... 33 weeks pregnant and well- feeling it... :)
